Here at UK Car & Van Rental, we always aim to put your convenience at the forefront of our services. That’s why we’ve designed our pick-up and drop-off processes to make car hire from us as straightforward as we can, so that you’ll never have to wait around any longer than necessary.
To make things even easier, we’ve put together this guide to collecting and dropping off your vehicle when you hire from us.
During the booking process, you will select a pick up/hire start time.
You can collect the vehicle at the hire start time from our premises near Gatwick Airport. Our staff will be on hand to help.
At this time, you can inspect your vehicle to check for any existing damage. We will have taken photos of the vehicle, which we will share with you when you collect it.
During the booking process, you will select a drop off/hire end time.
Return the vehicle to our premises near Gatwick Airport at the allocated time.
We will inspect the vehicle’s condition on its return. We would prefer the customer to be present for this, but if you have dropped it off out of hours, we will share the report and photos of this inspection with you when it has been completed.
Please note that while 24-hour drop off is available, there may be a surcharge for certain times. We will advise you of this at the time of booking.
As part of your booking process, we’ll record your flight details and scheduled arrival time.
Closer to the hire date, we’ll provide the contact details of the employee who will be picking you up from the airport.
We’ll send a WhatsApp message advising you when we’ve arrived at the relevant terminal – and don’t worry if your flight is delayed, because we will wait for you.
We’ll take you to our premises, which are just 5-7 minutes’ drive from Gatwick Airport, to collect your hire vehicle.
At this time, you can inspect your vehicle to check for any existing damage. We will have taken photos of the vehicle, which we will share with you when you collect it.
At the end of your hire period, return the vehicle to our Gatwick premises.
We will inspect the vehicle’s condition on its return. We would prefer you to be present for this, but if you have dropped it off out of hours, we will share the report and photos of the inspection with you when it has been completed.
We’ll take you to your terminal ready for your flight.

A Whatsapp message will be sent to you advising you that our employee has arrived at the airport terminal.
We’ll meet and greet you with the vehicle and your hire period then begins.

We will arrange to meet you at your departure terminal at the end of the hire period.
A WhatsApp message will be sent confirming the arrival of our employee at the terminal.
The hire period ends. At this time, we will inspect the vehicle’s condition. We would prefer you to be present for this, but if you have dropped it off out of hours, we will share the report and photos of this inspection with you when it has been completed.
